The Mission

is to help each person at UCHope to believe in Jesus, belong to family, become a follower, and build God’s kingdom.

Statement of Faith

  • The Bible: We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

  • God: We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

  • Sin and Separation: We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

  • Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, ministering in teaching, healing, and miracles. He was crucified and died on our behalf. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He is now seated and exalted at the right hand of the Father as the risen Lord and Intercessor.

  • Salvation: We believe that to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth,’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

  • Baptism and the Holy Spirit: We believe that to live holy and fruitful lives, we need to be baptized in water and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

  • The Church: We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity for believers to meet regularly for fellowship, prayer, and the ‘breaking of bread.’

  • Equipping for Purpose: We believe that God has individually equipped us to successfully achieve His purpose for our lives: to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church, and serve our community.

  • Healing and Transformation: We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.

  • Eternal Destination: We believe that our eternal destination, either Heaven or hell, is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Christ’s Return: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again, just as He promised.
